New museum - New exhibitions

We want your ideas!

Within a short time, the construction of a brand new printing museum will start in the backyard of the Norwegian Canning Museum in Old Stavanger. A co-location of the two museums provides a unique starting point for communicating the history of two industries that were inseparably linked to each other.

The Norwegian Printing Museum’s new exhibitions are being developed in relation to four main concepts: the written word, the printed word, the printed image and from paper to screen-based media in combination with our digital age. Each concept contains several historical and contemporary ideas and themes. Although the exhibitions will have a national and international profile, they will be rooted in local history, newspapers, printers, publishers and their specialities, as well as local trade associations.

We want to include the audience on the journey towards the new museum. Through the website and social media we want to share things we think can create interest, while at the same time inviting you to interact with us!

Do you have a question you would like to find the answer in our new exhibitions?
Or is there anything you want to tell us that will be interesting in the new museum?

If you come across something you think we should see, please use the hashtag #nyttgrafiskmuseum
